I’m currently part of the TTRPG Collective 3rd Anniversary Bundle. I wanted to highlight some of the awesome games in the bundle that are either solo or include rules for solo play.
Ancient Archive Analysis Accumulator
This fascinating game might appeal to fans of post-apocalyptic or found footage media. You plays as an accumulator who is documenting the ruins of a precursor civilization ( our own ) through library records. You use your actual local library’s database to discover ‘old’ texts and learn about the civilization that came before some poorly understood apocalyptic event.
A Very Real Horse
A very silly game about a very real horse. Played solo or duet, you are a couple of folks disguised as a trusty steed during the golden era of cowboys. Use a pool of d8s to track resources as you travel along the trail until you reach the end of the line. From the itch.io page: “Is it balanced? About as balanced as a Cowboy riding on two people in a horse costume.” Prepare a silly adventure when you pick up this in the bundle.
Stellar Route Inspectors
A one page, space-faring, map-making game for 1 to 6 players. The pamphlet style means it’s easy to print out and take with you. Need a interesting space map or just the right amount of space faction lore? You’ll enjoy this!
I Can Handle This
This “bleak, tense, and unforgiving” game inspired by Wretched & Alone explores the fate of a handful of agents bound to a secret organization. Fans of SCP or organized crime stories that don’t have happy endings, this is a game for you!
Awakened Applewood
My game! In this solo journaling game, you play as a sacred wooden dragon statue that is suddenly alive. You carry questions about life and your circumstances. You enter a cozy medieval fantasy market town and ask the folks there. Explore the deep inner lives of these townsfolk and try to find answers to both the questions you carry and new questions you discover along the way. Great for an introspective writing experience.
If any of these games interest you, check out the TTRPG Collective 3rd Anniversary Bundle! It includes all of the above games and 40+ more for only $20.
